Abu Dhabi is home to one of the most expensive hotels in the world - Emirates Palace. It cost $3 billion to build in the mid-2000s, making it the third most expensive hotel in the world (behind only the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas in Las Vegas and Marina Bay Sands in Singapore).
Emirates Palace is huge and luxurious at the same time. Celebrities, as well as heads of state and monarchs of the Middle East usually stay here during their visits to Abu Dhabi.
The hotel has kilometers of corridors, about a hundred elevators, dozens of conference rooms and meeting rooms, more than 600 plasma screens, dozens of fountains (both open and closed), more than 1000 chandeliers, two helipads, a 1.3 km long beach, a children's area with swimming pools and water attractions, as well as several restaurants specializing in Indian, Chinese, Arabic and other cuisines.
