Tourism in Egypt is highly dependent on the season. The period from mid-October to February is considered the best tourist period in Egypt. This is the most popular season to visit South Sinai or the shores of the Red Sea in search of new adventures or to escape the winter to bask in the sun.
It is worth considering that in any case, in the depths of winter, Cairo and Alexandria may be colder than you might expect. Therefore, you should also take warm clothes with you. As it is the height of the tourist season, accommodation prices will be high, especially between Christmas and New Year.
March-April or September-mid-October is the best time to avoid large crowds. So traveling during this season is often a win-win: the main monuments are less crowded and accommodations are usually more affordable.
In May and September, daytime temperatures can still be very high, so heat-sensitive travelers (and families traveling with young children) should plan their Egypt holiday for March, April or October.
It should also be noted that dust storms occur from time to time in the spring, which can disrupt the normal flow of hot air balloon and paragliding flights.
The weather will warm up sharply with average temperatures reaching 42°C. Luxor's temples and tombs are open to the public from 6am, so getting up early can avoid visiting these places in the scorching heat.
Summer begins when professional divers head to Sharm el-Sheikh and the shores of the Red Sea. They are willing to endure hot weather on land in exchange for calm, warm water at sea and excellent underwater visibility.
