Gyumri is a rich cultural and colorful city; Since ancient times, it has been considered a city of arts and crafts. Thanks to the hands of Gyumri craftsmen, dozens of churches and buildings were built and decorated, many of which have reached us. Walking around the city, you can come across various statues, monuments, parks and beautiful gardens.
Gyumri is one of the unique cities whose architecture is based on the architectural styles of the cities of Ani and Kars in Western Armenia.
The city had developed crafts. Each of the crafts invented a symphony and had its own flag. Pottery, blacksmithing and sewing industries were developed. The flags of these sympathies can be seen in the Museum of Folk Architecture and Urban Life in Gyumri.
Gyumri is also rich in the culture of troupe singing. Even troupes held competitions among themselves.
Famous Armenian cultural figures were born in Gyurmri, such as: USSR actor Mher Mkrtchyan (Mimino, Mistress of the Caucasus), poets Oganes Shiraz, Avetik Isahakyan, artist Minas Avetisyan and others were born in Gyurmri.
