Sights of Jermuk

Jermuk is famous for its mineral water exhibition hall, a beautiful columned building where mineral water of different temperatures (from 30°C to 53°C) flows from pipes into stone vats, each with different healing properties. The view is especially beautiful thanks to the nearby pond, the mirror surface of which reflects the exhibition hall and the surrounding forest.
The real beauty of Jermuk is the waterfall, which is popularly called "Mermaid's Hair" due to its resemblance to long flowing hair. The water is in the gorge of the Arpa River from a height of about 70 meters. There is a beautiful but sad legend about the love of the beautiful daughter of a prince and her lover, the son of a shepherd, which the locals will definitely tell you if you visit the waterfall.
There is a branch of the National Gallery of Armenia in Jermuk, where paintings by Armenian artists such as Harutyun Kalents, Martiros Saryan and others are presented. The city also has a public library, a park and clubs. A new church has also been built in Jermuk.
Good news for active recreation lovers. Jermuk also has a cable car built in 2007 by the Austrian company Leitner and meeting international standards. This allows skiers to enjoy professional slopes. At the last stop of the cable car, a special area for sleds and snowmobiles is equipped.
