Information about Hankavan

 

Hankavan is a balneoclimatic resort located in the Kotayk region of the Republic of Armenia, 85 km north of Yerevan, in the picturesque gorge of the Marmarik River. Hankavan is a small resort with the status of a village and is considered one of the ecologically clean regions of Armenia with rich flora and fauna. This heavenly place is located at an altitude of 1900 m above sea level. The village of Hankavan is surrounded by rocky mountains, the slopes of which are covered with forests, bushes and emerald fields.

In the vicinity of Hankavan, khachkars and tombs of the 11th-12th centuries have been preserved, which are an integral part of the ancient culture of Armenia, and in the settlement of Hankavan itself there is a Greek church founded in the 19th century. On the road leading to the village of Hankavan, there is a famous reservoir, in the mirror-clear water of which the surrounding green mountains are reflected. This water-rich reservoir has all the necessary prerequisites to become a place for fishing and recreation. Hankavan is famous for its hot waters, the healing properties of which, attracting lovers of nature and recreation, lead them to the warm heart of Hankavan.
