Find hotels in Dubai for every budget, from beach resorts on Palm Jumeirah to towers in Downtown, just 3.5 hours from Yerevan.
Overview
Dubai is one of the easiest long-weekend and winter-sun trips from Armenia: direct flights take about three and a half hours, there is no time difference with Yerevan, and the choice of hotels in Dubai is enormous, from simple city hotels near the metro to famous beach resorts. Few cities mix so many holiday types in one place: sea and sand, shopping, desert adventures and world-class dining.
The city stretches along the Persian Gulf coast. In Downtown you will find the Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Mall and the evening fountain show; along the coast lie Jumeirah Beach, the man-made Palm Jumeirah and the high-rise towers of Dubai Marina. Old Dubai around the Creek feels completely different, with wind-tower houses in Al Fahidi, the Gold and Spice Souks and wooden abra boats crossing the water. Beyond the city, the golden dunes of the Arabian desert begin less than an hour's drive away.
Getting around is simple: the Dubai Metro links the airport, Deira, Downtown and the Marina, and taxis are plentiful and metered. Families appreciate the clean public beaches, water parks and safe streets, while couples come for rooftop restaurants, beach clubs and sunset desert safaris. Food lovers can try everything from Emirati machboos and shawarma to Levantine, Indian and Persian cooking. Winter is the high season, so it pays to compare prices early and book the hotel before the flights get expensive.

See hotelsWhen to go
The best time to visit Dubai is from late October to April, when days are warm and sunny, the sea is pleasant and evenings are perfect for terraces and the desert. December to February is the peak season, with festive events, the Dubai Shopping Festival and the highest hotel prices, so book early. From May the heat builds quickly, and in July and August it is very hot and humid, which is why summer brings the lowest rates and good deals at luxury resorts for travellers who are happy to spend the day by the pool or in air-conditioned malls.

Good to know
Cards are accepted almost everywhere, but carry some dirhams for taxis, abra rides and small purchases in the souks.
Dress modestly in malls, the old town and mosques: cover shoulders and knees, and keep swimwear for the beach and the pool.
Use the metro and a rechargeable Nol card for long trips across the city; taxis and ride-hailing apps are convenient for short hops.
Tipping is not compulsory, but leaving around 10% in restaurants and a little for drivers and hotel staff is appreciated.
Book desert safaris, Burj Khalifa time slots and popular beach clubs a few days ahead, especially in the December to February peak.

Five to seven nights is ideal for most travellers. That gives you time for Downtown and the Burj Khalifa, a day in Old Dubai, a desert safari and several relaxed beach days. A short city break of three or four nights works too, while families staying at a resort on Palm Jumeirah often prefer a full week or longer.
