The oldest part of the city of Tunisia

The oldest part of the city of Tunisia, built by the Arabs in the 9th century. There are ancient mosques, bazaars, fountains... The most interesting sights of the Tunisian medina are the Zitouna Mosque, the Torbet el-Bey mausoleum, the Dar Ben Abdellah Museum of Traditions and Crafts.
The largest in the country, it contains ancient Roman mosaics and artifacts dating back up to 3,000 years. The museum building itself is also interesting - the former residence of Turkish beys.

The 4th episode of the cult saga (and more) was filmed here, and the huge Mos Espa stage has survived to this day.
It was built at the end of the 9th century in the capital, near Medina. The Romanesque-Byzantine architecture, the interior, rich in original frescoes, and the ancient organ amaze the imagination.
