Why can't you sleep during takeoff and landing?

If you plan to sleep in a comfortable seat at the beginning and end of your flight, you may be putting your health at risk, as sleeping during takeoff and landing can seriously damage your ears.
The fact is that during this period the air pressure in the aircraft cabin changes sharply. When an airplane gains altitude, there is a difference between the eardrum and the atmospheric pressure.
The air compresses the eardrum, the Eustachian tube narrows, which causes a feeling of pinching of the ears.
This phenomenon can not only cause excruciating pain, but can also lead to dizziness, nosebleeds, ear infections, eardrum damage and even hearing loss.
If you sleep, you will not be able to take measures to prevent these phenomena, you will not be able to activate the muscles that open the Eustachian tube and provide air supply to the middle ear.
Of course, you can sleep during the flight. You just need to wait a bit after the flight starts and try to wake up before landing.
