Winters in Morocco are usually cold

Cold winters in Morocco can be harsh, but they are nothing compared to the very cold winters in Washington. Like Morocco, there are few places where tourists can stay warm in winter. Many restaurants and hotels in Morocco are designed for sunny weather, so when it gets really cold outside, people have to wear more clothes. Riads usually have uninsulated courtyards, taxis do not use heaters, and people even go outside without hats and gloves even in the warm season. While braving the cold in Morocco during the winter can be challenging, it's no different than braving the extreme cold in Washington, DC.
If you're planning a trip to northern Morocco between November and March, be prepared for cold weather. Avoid places if previous visitors have complained about the cold.
