The Magdalena is a river in northwestern South America that flows through western Colombia. It originates in the Andes, flows north and flows into the Caribbean Sea. The length of the river is 1550 km, the drainage area is 260,000 km².
The Magdalena is considered the most important and longest river in Colombia, its drainage area covers 24% of the continent's territory, thanks to which most of the population is able to survive.
