Notre-Dame de Paris (Notre-Dame de Paris)

Notre-Dame de Paris (Notre-Dame de Paris)

Notre Dame Cathedral became famous thanks to the novel by Victor Hugo. Hugo sought to revive the French love for the cathedral, and he certainly succeeded. The love of the Parisians was so great that during the French Revolution they were ready to “bribe” anyone who threatened to destroy the cathedral. Perhaps we should thank Hugo himself for the fact that we can still admire this cathedral. The damage done during the reign of Louis XIV and the French Revolution would have remained untouched if Hugo's novel had not been written. Construction of the temple took about two centuries. However, it was during this period that the temple acquired its unique appearance, and to achieve such a result, one could wait thousands of years.
