Greece, Corfu island

Strolling along the sea with rocky beaches and soothing warmth, the island and Greece in general are at their best.

The island of Corfu has a rich and glorious history. The Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Venetians, French and, finally, modern Greeks mastered it. Only the Ottoman Turks were unable to conquer this island, the only one among the Greek islands. That is why there are enough monuments to these achievements on this island.

Opposite the Greek-Albanian border, 2 km from the mainland, lies the green and mountainous Kerkyra or, as it is called in Italian, the island of Corfu.
The island's main city, Kerkyra, is known for its historical quarter, old and new castles and clear Venetian influence.
It is beautiful and neat here, but the Mediterranean flower life, aromas and sounds of wildlife are hopelessly inferior to the mountains and the sea coast.
