1. Visit Wat Chalong if you are looking for a quiet and peaceful environment in the heart of Phuket. It is one of Thailand's most important historical sites and still plays an important role in the lives of many local residents. In the Buddhist religion, it is customary to remove shoes before entering any temple building.

2. Karon Observation Deck
Phuket actually gets its name from the local word for "hill", meaning there are many magical sights scattered throughout the island. Here you can see views of the three main beaches/bays of northern Phuket.

3. Phuket Old Town
Next to Wat Chalong is another one of the best places in Phuket. The charming old town is just perfect. Today the old town is quite compact, but there are many independent shops, museums and traditional restaurants.

4. Observation deck at Cape Promter

The southernmost point of Phuket. Elephant statues and carvings can be found here in all forms and can even be purchased from a local vendor.

Speaking of elephants, no trip to Phuket would be complete without a visit to the elephant sanctuary. One of the best places in Phuket is the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary. Here the elephants enjoy as natural a life as possible, free from any inhumane “elephant ride” or jungle trekking.
