Climate
The climate here is purely equatorial, which means that Indonesia does not have a significant change in seasons. The rainy season lasts from October to March, and the dry season from April to September.

Transportation
Most city buses are old and worn out, and are usually packed with people. The driver or conductor collects the fare. Minibuses, called bemo, are more common. Taxis are also very popular. There are many companies that provide this service. Taxis can be found in front of the hotel where you are staying. At the beginning of the trip, be sure to check that the meter is on and the readings are correct (hooliganism is not uncommon). If the taxi driver refuses to turn on the meter, it is advisable to get out of the car immediately.

Official Currency
The official currency of Indonesia is the Indonesian Rupiah. Currency can be exchanged at major bank branches and hotels. US dollars are also accepted in tourist areas, with preference given to newer currency.
