Money and currency in Vietnam

What to expect, how to manage money and fraud in order to avoid advice.
In Vietnam, monetary management can be a little more complicated and contains several other warnings than in other countries of Southeast Asia.

Vietnam has Vietnamese Dong with two cops and US dollars. Although the government encourages foreign currency departure, the US dollar is still used in some cases.
Many prices for hotels, tours or other services are presented in US dollars. The cost of food, drinks and past souvenirs at Saigon airport is the US dollar.
The use of two different currencies increases the incorrect communication potential and loses. If the price is indicated in US dollars, and you decide to pay in the Vietnamese Dong, then the owner or seller can place the rate, usually depending on their benefits.
Since Vietnamese Dong is weak, and prices are as a large number, sometimes local residents simplify prices from the 1000th Dong. For example, someone tells you that the price of “5” may mean 5,000 dong or $ 5. The exchange of tourists The exchange rate is the old fraud in Vietnam. Always check before agreeing with the price.
