Aboriginal people love sweets and prepare them with honey, chayote, quince, sweet potatoes and even ambrosia. Recipes for many dishes vary from place to place and from the fruits that grow there. The most popular desserts in the country are:
Dulce de leche is boiled condensed milk used as a filling for cookies, candies, cakes and other sweets.
flan - a classic pudding made from milk, sugar, eggs and vanilla;
Queso con dulce is a thick slice of cheese topped with sweet potato or quince jelly.
Masamorra or Caguiness is a rustic dessert made from milk, sugar, vanilla and corn, served with honey;
Ice cream - the most common flavor here - is low in condensed milk called "helo".
