Grand Opera Paris

Grand Opera Paris

The Grand Opera is the state opera house of Paris. Founded by the composer R. Kamber and the poet P. Peren. It was opened in 1671 as the "Royal Academy of Music". Later it was renamed several times. In 1875, a new Grand Opera building with 2,130 seats was built. In the 17th and 18th centuries, the theater's activities were associated with two genres of national opera: lyrical tragedy and opera-ballet. They were staged by Lull, J. Rama, and K. Gluck's Operas. At the end of the 1920s, a new genre called Grand Opera was born here. Rossini's William Tell, Meyerbeer's Les Tuguenots and other operas were staged. The Opera House amazes with its splendor and originality. Just entering the structure is already an event, and after watching the performance it will take time to return to reality.
