French cuisine

French cuisine is known as some of the best in the world. French cuisine is very diverse and has greatly influenced other Western cuisines. Recipes for dishes are different in different regions; for example, in the north they prefer ghee instead of fat, and in the south they prefer olive oil.
In addition, each region has its own famous dish. Cassoulet in the southwest, Choucrot in Alsace, Quiche in Lorraine, Bioff Bouguignon in Burgundy, etc. The most famous food of France is wine, including Champagne, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Beaujolais, as well as cheeses such as Camembert, Roquefort and Brie . There are about 400 types of cheese.
French cuisine also plays a crucial role in attracting tourists. In 2006, French restaurants were awarded 620 prestigious Michelin stars, more than any other country up to that time (Japan received its own star in 2010, but only about half of Michelin's inspection staff arrived).
